SNDMakes is a 2.5-day rapid prototyping event produced by Society for News Design. Utilizing design-thinking techniques, teams develop ideas to improve digital news and media experiences. By the end of event weekend, each team has produced a prototype that demonstrates each idea. Participants apply and teams are curated to ensure an open, diverse, collaborative and harassment-free environment. SND
Makes is about community, not competition. Therefore, we do not award a winner or encourage teams to work through the night. We do, however, encourage all participants to openly share their ideas and post their code is a Github (e.g.) so that all media community. SNDMakes is produced on behalf of Society for News Design.
