It’s with a full but sad heart I heard my old friend Art Rosenbaum died this morning. He was a true beacon of light in the world - an artist, musician, folklorist, historian, teacher..…his friendship, music and artwork have influenced me, my own music and artwork probably more than any other person.
From when I asked him to sit on my graduate thesis committee, to singing sea chanties over beers at the Globe, to watching him paint a life size portrait of the early days of my old band…I never missed a moment to sop up everything I could to learn from him. What a truly beautiful human being.
