Advanced diagnostics are changing what’s possible in veterinary medicine. 🔬
At our network hospital, Red Bank Veterinary Hospital, teams are now utilizing PET/CT imaging — a powerful technology that combines traditional CT with nuclear medicine to evaluate not only the structure of tissues and organs, but also their metabolic activity.
Using FDG (fluorodeoxyglucose), PET/CT allows clinicians to identify areas of high biologic activity, supporting:
✔️ Earlier cancer detection and monitoring during treatment
✔️ Identification of metastatic or inflammatory disease
✔️ More informed treatment planning based on tumor behavior, not just size
✔️ Greater precision in complex or difficult-to-diagnose cases
Medical and radiation oncology teams will lead its use, with internal medicine and surgery also leveraging this technology to guide care.
