Our friend Camacho passed away last night. Jason was one of my favorite drummers to watch perform—he exploded from his drum throne with a rhythm and timing that were uniquely his. Whenever LB played a show in Austin, you could count on him to be in the front row, pulsating with energy. Years ago, when we needed a substitute drummer, he courageously volunteered to jump in the tour van and pull off a set of songs that were completely new to him. He was intense—both as a performer and as an audience member. He got in your face and demanded that you give it all up. If Jason was in the crowd, you couldn’t phone anything in. He made you perform better, whether you wanted to or not.

His passing is a huge loss to the community. Rest in peace, Camacho.

We appreciate the tremendous outpouring of support from y’all today. We still know very little about the situation, but we have been asked by our drummer’s family and his legal team to respect their privacy while this situation evolves. We intend to do so, and we send all our love their way. We’ll share updates from the family when we can. Thanks again for everyone’s support. -LB
