This spring, the Texas Water Development Board partnered with the LCRA to deploy a Collison Floating Evaporation Pan on Lake Buchanan. You might spot this device if you’re out on the water, but please keep your distance. It’s measuring how much water is lost to evaporation, helping to improve our understanding of reservoir conditions and water supply across Texas.

🌱 Let it stand tall! Longer grass provides extra shade and helps lock in soil moisture longer. This is exceptionally important during times of drought. Give your mower (and your back) a break! Skip the mow and let your grass stand 3-4 inches. TWDB’s Water Weekly: After no change in total drought area last week, the latest map for conditions as of May 26 shows a return to the pattern of weekly drought contraction. Since last week, widespread areas of East and South Texas experienced one category of improvement. In the Panhandle, there was a mix of improvement and degradation. https://bit.ly/TexasWaterWeekly
