Measuring Team Extraordinaire! Documenting for a new project at Austin’s cherished wedding and event venue, Mercury Hall.

It was very rewarding this past week to walk one of our recently completed new construction homes with the owner and the General Contractor.

It was rewarding to experience the spaces staged with furniture. To stretch my arms out in the kitchen and feel its expansiveness. To experience the reality of my labor of love.

And on top of the fact that I was so proud of this home and how beautifully it had turned out, it was so rewarding to see how excited and proud the owner and the contractor were of it too. :))

To hear how it stood out to them as special, amongst their 18 other projects.

To hear how impressed they were with my work. And to see how that had caused them to take such great care with theirs.

And I snapped this photo of them taking note of some smudges on the railing. Which I didn’t even notice; because I was so tickled and thrilled by it all. 🙂

Is there a more iconic Austin movie than ?

I was recently tasked to renovate one of the 3 homes that was featured in this beloved cult classic.

In the movie, this was Sabrina’s house. Where she and Tony stumbled through their first, shy, teenage kiss. :)

Design-wise, we needed to capture the square footage of the front porch… so, while the front of the house had remained true to film for the last 31 years, it was now going to have to change.

This was a beautifully poetic design challenge.

And it was fun and an honor to dance w some of Austin’s history and magic.
