According to data from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), in fall 2020, approximately 14.5 million students were enrolled in undergraduate programs in the United States. Of these students:

• About 57% were women, and 43% were men.
• About 58% were White, 16% were Hispanic, 14% were Black, 7% were Asian/Pacific Islander, and 5% were of other races/ethnicities.
• About 42% were 24 years old or younger, while 58% were 25 years old or older.

It's worth noting that not all Americans attend college, and college attendance rates can vary widely depending on factors such as socioeconomic status, geographic region, and access to educational resources. Additionally, while college attendance is an important factor in many people's lives, there are many successful and fulfilling career paths that do not require a college degree.
