Little habits that make your life easier ✨

1 & 2: Keep your top thread under your presser foot & keep a few inches of thread slack hanging off to the left or back.

Reason: These prevent your thread from getting sucked up out of the needle, and/or creating a tangled nest of thread when you’re starting to sew.

3: Use your hand dial & rotate towards you.

Reason: This is key in manually moving your needle into/ out of your fabric, that gives you more control in beginning and ending a stitch. Rotating the dial towards you moves the needle forward- rather than backward which can result in a tangle.

4: Put your presser foot down.

Reason: Key to actual success in using a machine!! Sometimes for beginners it’s just hard to remember to do, but once you start sewing you immediately realize what you forgot to do & see why it created a mess. I’m constantly reminding beginners to put it down.
