Possibly the most underrated band in the history of music. Adjectives that one often hears when describing THE CALL include "powerful", "moving", "indispensable", "emotional", "passionate", "spiritual", the list goes on. One thing is certain, they deserved a better fate than the one dealt to them. This band is a great combination of musicians that crafted excellent tunes. "As a professional musician, it's always uplifting to have a superstar cover one of your songs. Such was the case when fans sent us a video of Todd Rundgren playing 'The Walls Came Down' in his live show a few years back. When we decided to re-record the song, we naturally reached out to Todd to see if he would honor Michael Been by recreating the lead vocal. It all came together after we recorded the track in Arizona, sent it to Todd in Hawaii, and both camps did final mixes.
Todd's mix is an homage to the original recording, while the band's mix is more like our live sound. We think Todd crushed the lead vocal on any and all mixes. Call drummer Scott Musick out last night to see Bono and The Edge of accept the prize - they did an acoustic set then convo with T Bone Burnett. Bono revealed lyrics to a new U2 song. It was fire 🔥🤘Bono guest appeared on The Call’s 1990 album, Red Moon, which was produced by T Bone Burnett.
