One of these wrists is not like the other… 😳

And before anyone comments on my funny-looking hands… yes, I know. 🦥😂

I had the basal joints removed from both thumbs because of arthritis a few years ago, and one side didn’t heal quite the way it was supposed to. So we’re not talking about the hands today—we’re talking about the wrist.

Six and a half weeks ago, I managed to break both bones in my left wrist doing something incredibly dangerous…👀

Getting into my car. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I rolled my ankle, fell sideways, and the wrist lost the battle. These 63 year old bones aren’t as tough as they used to be!

Now when I look at them side by side, it’s hard to believe they’re supposed to match. The wrist that was broken still looks swollen and misshapen, it’s weaker than I’d like, and certain movements definitely remind me that it’s not fully healed yet.

The frustrating part? I’m the type who wants to bounce back immediately. My body keeps reminding me that healing has its own timeline.

For those of you who’ve broken a wrist, arm, ankle, or any major bone…

How long did it take before it felt “normal” again?

Did the swelling and weird shape eventually go away, or did it stay different permanently?

I’d love to hear your experiences because right now I’m trying to be patient… and patience has never exactly been my superpower. 😂

🚗 Car Update Time…

The Subaru went in for surgery this morning. 🎉

I’m having the valve cover gaskets replaced, along with the ignition coils, and we’re probably putting in fresh spark plugs too. I just replaced the plugs last Thursday, but since the leaking valve cover gaskets may have contaminated them, I’d rather be safe than sorry.

The good news? If this fixes what we think it’s fixing, I should see my gas mileage climb back up into the 28–30 MPG range instead of the 15–20 MPG I’ve been fighting lately as well as the loss of power and sputtering. For someone who depends on deliveries and gig work, that’s a pretty big deal.

The bad news? Cash flow is tight, and dropping a big repair bill all at once just isn’t in the cards right now. My credit cards are tapped out, but thankfully the shop accepts Affirm, so that’s how I’m making it happen.

And before anyone chirps off, no, I’m not promoting debt or saying financing repairs is a great financial strategy. Trust me, I’d much rather pay cash. But sometimes when you’re robbing Peter to pay Paul and Peter is broke while Paul is demanding payment, you do what you have to do to keep moving forward.💯

The reality is that after the move to Colorado, my monthly expenses are going to drop significantly, which will free up cash to tackle a lot of things that have been hanging over my head. Right now, the priority is simple: keep the car running. 🚙

Without the car, the reselling, the deliveries, and the income all get a whole lot harder.

I’ll be spending the day listing inventory while I wait for the call that she’s ready to come home.
