The Programs team continues site visits with our 2026 recipients with Shepeard Community Blood Center.
This incredible organization takes supporting local to another level. Picture it: local blood, thanks to generous donors, goes to local hospitals and saves local lives!
With this year's grant, Shepeard Blood was able to make some much-needed technology upgrades, increasing process efficiency to deepen their impact.
We also got a behind-the-scenes look at the lab and people who ensure our neighbors get the life-saving blood they need when they need it!

The Program team spent time at MACH Academy, Inc. annual summer camp at Fleming Tennis Center. We were in for a real treat as campers took a mid-morning pause and met officers from the Richmond County Sheriff's Office - Georgia
Campers witnessed K9s Gajes, Takota and Flip search out narcotics, track “bad guys” and sniff out explosives while learning about the ways our 4-legged protectors help keep our community safe.
Through Community Grants, we are proud to support programs like MACH Academy that create memorable experiences for children throughout the CSRA.

Community Foundation staff recently visited Technical College to see its Empowering Futures Through Job Training program in partnership with The Salvation Army of Augusta.
During our visit, we observed forklift certification training and saw firsthand how participants are gaining skills that lead to employment, stability, and new opportunities. Since the program began, 40 Salvation Army clients have completed workforce boot camps and earned valuable credentials.
💙 We are grateful for Augusta Technical College’s commitment to strengthening our workforce and creating pathways to economic mobility across the CSRA.
