Halloween Safety Tips from Pop-A-Lock CSRA
As families prepare for trick-or-treating, we want to help keep your community safe this Halloween.
Before heading out:
• Check that all exterior doors are locked
• Plan costumes that are bright and reflective. Choose a colorful treat bag and add glow-in-the-dark elements, reflective tape or striping to costumes and trick-or-treat bags
• Slow down and be especially alert in residential neighborhoods. Children are excited on Halloween and may move in unpredictable ways.
For homeowners welcoming trick-or-treaters:
• Keep walkways well-lit and clear of obstacles
• Secure side and back doors while greeting guests at the front
• Restrain pets so they do not jump on or bite a trick-or-treater
• Sweep wet leaves from sidewalks and steps to prevent slips and falls
