Georgia Life Sciences’ Athens BioBash was a huge success. EGC's Kyle Davidson led an impactful discussion that set the stage for how the Classic City’s unique convergence of research institutions, skilled talent, suppliers, and industry partners positions Athens as a globally connected life sciences hub. Thank you to our speakers, Shelby Day with Meissner, Derek Eberhart with The University of Georgia Innovation Gateway, Tony Endozo with VWR, and Jeff Thompson with Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine.

And a special thank you to our sponsors: Bennett & Pless, Inc., Evans General Contractors, Invest Athens GA, ISPE-CaSA, UCB, The University of Georgia Innovation, and VWR, part of Avantor.

Thank you Creature Comforts Brewing Co. for hosting us!

Dear Friends, Colleagues, and Partners of GLS,

Please join us in wishing Megan Heaphy all the best in her next chapter.
During her time with Georgia Life Sciences, Megan played a key role in advancing workforce and education initiatives that strengthen Georgia’s life sciences ecosystem. Through her leadership in programs like the Biotech Teacher Training Initiative and educator engagement efforts, she helped expand hands-on STEM learning, support teachers statewide, and inspire the next generation of life sciences talent.

Her work contributed to building meaningful connections between classrooms and industry - equipping educators with real-world tools, fostering career awareness, and helping grow a more robust, future-ready workforce across Georgia.

We’re grateful for Megan’s dedication, passion for science education, and the lasting impact she’s made on students, educators, and the broader community. She will be missed, and we wish her continued success in all that’s ahead.
