Our customers can build their embedded solutions with the architecture of their choice. (3) E3 Peripheral Boards – We will have over 20 peripherals at launch and are planning many more. End-users can seamlessly integrate these peripherals with the motherboard with no specialty tools or soldering required.

DIFFERENTIATORS
E3’s PIEP is differentiated in a number of ways. The PIEP permits the use of a wide array of different microcontrollers, is optimized for size and functionality, and is a cost-effective alternative to existing technologies. (1) Processor Independence – Our motherboard does not contain a processor. Rather, we have processor boards that plug into or snap into the motherboard. (2) Form Factor – Our 4-inch by 4-inch motherboard has 12 Stackable Peripheral Interface Ports (SPIPs) where our peripherals can be plugged into the motherboard. Our peripherals can be stacked on top of other peripherals (3 per SPIP). Conceivably, one could stack 36 peripherals on a single motherboard. (3) Ease of Use – Wire cutters and a small screw driver are the only tools you must have in order to use the PIEP. (4) Connectivity – We plan to ship products with pre-crimped leads, wires and connectors. Also, you can interface with external hardware using the optional terminal board and tether peripherals with the remote mount kit. (5) Flexibility – Peripherals can be plugged-into multiple locations and remotely mounting peripherals can easily be achieved. (6) Cost Advantages – Considering the benefits listed here, substantial cost-savings can be achieved (i.e. one system for all your needs) and the amount of time creating embedded solutions can be greatly reduced. (7) Compatibility – We plan to make our product compatible with a wide array of existing industry components offered by other manufacturers. In other words, an end-user’s existing embedded devices (components in his or her toolbox) will work with the PIEP platform, bi-directionally. A perfect example of this is the Arduino Shield Adapter and the BeagleBone Adapter (coming soon).
