Pupdate: she has a heavy load of heart worms & filaria. Cost for fast kill (safer but costs more) is going to run near $1000. Both her knees but are blown. Xrays needed to know how to proceed. Bloodwork for senior panels (she’s 6-7) was $200 w a rabies vax and pain meds. She still needs spaying but I think I have that covered. I’m looking for donations to offset some of the upcoming vet bills for the sweet, emaciated girl, with lots of old injuries and deformities, possibly from past trauma or being hit by a car. She has no microchip but we learned she was a street dog for many years down at the Valero near Shawn O Briens on 36 in Jackson and people just left her out, never trying to catch her or she was uncatchable.

I first saw her before Thanksgiving, full of milk, put no puppies. She will need vaccinations, X-rays, bloodwork, spaying if she can survive anesthesia, meds, antiparasitics, special food, etc. as she is likely a hospice case. I will know more Monday after the vet appointment on Monday. (Surprisingly, all her bloodwork came back great, except for her heart worm load!)

First off, I wanted to thank each of you for being who you are- some of the best friends and customers any business owner could have. I truly appreciate and value each and every one of you.

Also, my mother passed away recently and her service will be this Saturday the 28th. Please be patient while our family sorts through the grief and if I miss you somehow, please let me know immediately, as it’s not intentional. I have taken this week off to get through the holiday and her passing but will be back at work on Monday.

Praying each of you had a truly magical Christmas and kept Jesus at the center of it all. I, for one, know I’m extremely grateful for His mercy and blessings! Here’s to a better New Year for us and our country! God bless!
