Unfortunately we will not be hosting any tournaments next year, or in the foreseeable future. Life has gotten crazy for us. Between 2 kids, work, our growth in faith and ministry, and just the craziness of life, we have decided to take a break from hosting for a while. Richard Yancey and I started SBA back in 2019. We hosted a team trail and a couples series. Later on we swapped over to the striper trail. While each of them were a ton of fun, I must say that the most heartwarming of them all was the couples series. It was such an incredible experience watching couples get out there together and fish! Hopefully one day we will be able to get those back together!

I also want to thank all the sponsors who supported us throughout the year. Jim Ellis Buick GMC - Mall of Georgia was with us from the start. Their unwavering support means so much to us!

Another massive supporter was Captain Mack's He put the pedal to the metal on the striper trail, and never let off! He was a huge supporter of SBA and we are forever greatful for him and all he’s done!

And thank you to all the other supporters of SBA. Oakwood Bait & Tackle, Jimbo's Lake Lanier Spotted Bass Guide Service, Jimmy Hall, and East2West Media Group, Inc.. You guys helped us out more than you’d ever know! Much love to each and every one of you!

Last but definitely not least, thank you to ALL the anglers that came out and supported us. We are so grateful for our fishing community, and all the wonderful anglers we have in it. We had so much fun getting to know you all. We traveled with many of you from south GA, to Tennessee , to South Carolina , to Alabama, and everywhere in between. We made many great memories, and some really close friendships along the way. Thank you guys AND gals. ❤️

We had a rough day of fishing yesterday. Big congratulations to Shawn Simpson and his team Simpson Trucking. They were the only ones to manage a limit, and they also took home big fish with a 34” beauty.

Jason Handley and his team, Trident Wildlife took home second with two solid fish.

Conditions were tough, and the bite was even tougher. Thank you all that came out and fished our first event, brought to you by Jim Ellis Buick GMC - Mall of Georgia. Looking forward to April 20!

Next Saturday is the kickoff with our first tournament this year. If you haven’t already signed up, let us know and we’ll get you signed up! Don’t forget to take a good clear picture of your fish. We need to be able to see your fish up against the bump board and the tail needs to be clear, so we can get an accurate measurement.

We will measure to the closest 1/4” without going over where you’re at. We will always round down to the closest 1/4”, not up.

Tournament numbers will be out out the morning of the tournament. Please make sure it is visible in your photos. All tournaments are 4fish limits.

You must use a check it stick measuring board. I have a few left of the large ones if you are in need of one. They’re $60 each.

Weigh in for both Lanier tournaments will be at Oakwood Bait & Tackle
