POV: Black cats are bad luck

Around 12 AD, Pope Gregory IX (Catholic Church) decides that black cats are an incarnation of the Devil and that they were Satan himself tormenting people on Earth. Pious people who followed the Pope, began burning them alive to show devotion to the Pope….aka a sacrifice.

With the decrease in cats, there was an increase in rodents which then carried the Plague. Once again, blamed on cats.

Cats were also later associated with witches when they were thought to be a witch's familiar after doing her bidding. 16th century Italy, Germans, thought that crossing a black cat’s path was bad luck like finding a dead crow or a raven outside your door.

The Welsh believed a Black cat being around the house of someone who just passed was a sign that the person’s soul was being carried to hell. Any other color was a sign that they were going to heaven.

Meanwhile, other societies considered Black cats to be a major sign of prosperity and luck.

In Japan, you may see cat figurines, which are symbols of an abundance of love, passion, suitors and abundance of good luck in general. In Russia, they are a sign of prosperity and good fortune.

In Kemet, they were considered the physical form of the goddess Bastet and a huge form of prosperity and good fortune. The Irish see Black cats as a good omen for harvest and abundance.

Sailors had Black cats on board for safe passage and would not take trips without one.

Not everyone saw Black cats as an omen of bad luck. To this day, Black cats are the least adopted and the most likely to be abandoned.

Welcome to Libra Season

With all that is happening, it is important to take time and see the beauty around us. It’s what helps us feel like we can keep moving forward. It’s the encouragement we need and the way we stay in tune with God’s promise and creation. Libra is ruled by Venus. Venus managing love and all the things we desire. It also lends to how far we will go to obtain all that we desire. Libra loves balance, symmetry, peace and harmony, and beauty, no matter how you perceive it.

For the next 30 days, our focus is seeing the beauty despite the chaos. Learning to program our minds to know that it’s okay to see and acknowledge all that is right and good for us despite those good things co-existing with so much that is wrong.

I'll tell you something funny about delusions. People can see it, acknowledge it, and still live there comfortably.

We have a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse tomorrow in Pisces.

Lots of delulu coming to the surface. Things you know damn well you shouldn't have been doing will stare you in the face and make you decide whether you are going to play with it anymore.

You may be more attuned to hearing other people's delusions. Just folks talking about things that should make more sense, but they don't.

The issue is, most people have been living in this delusional dream state for so long, they believe it to be a reality. So when they speak, they actually believe what they are saying is true. There is no need to try and convince them otherwise. That's a futile fight. Just know what you know and move on.

From this point on through 2025 (as Neptune moves from Pisces into Aries) a lot of masks will continue to come off, a lot of ideas and things we have been obsessed with as a society will be examined, and those squirrely superficial things that had our attention won't be able to hold it anymore. We were not designed to be this dumbed down.

What we will see is a shift back to the things we abandoned. Technology and advancements made us falsely believe there were things we didn't need in the name of convenience and change, but the gag is, we didn't need to abandon certain mainstays.

We can glow up and STILL appreciate our foundation. We can make changes and progress and STILL respect the past experience without wiping out the memories. Some of what we had was really good and we didn't need to abandon it in order to move on to the new stuff.

Anyway, for the next few days if your dreams are vivid and intense, write them down and pay attention to the message, how it made you feel. Use all six of your senses to understand what you are being told. Synchronicities are real y'all. Coincidence isn't a thing.

And know that your reality that you/ we are living is based on your choices and actions. Nothing is being done TO you. You/ we are doing it to yourself/ ourselves.
