It all began on Friday, April 22, 2011. Felicity was diagnosed with a brain tumor. An MRI confirmed the tumor was a 3cm by 2cm ependymoma. Felicity had surgery on Monday, April 25, 2011 to remove the tumor. During the surgery, doctors discovered that they had to leave a small 4-5mm portion of the tumor that was on her brain stem and could not be removed. This was unexpected, and it means a change

She is in recovery and doing great! The Dr. said he got a great sample, so fingers crossed that she won’t need another biopsy!!

Felicity update- long post warning.
A couple of weeks ago Felicity started having pain in her right knee. My mom took her to the p*p and she had an X-Ray done. X-Ray came back as abnormal, so an MRI was done. The p*p wasn’t sure of results so we were referred to ortho. Ortho’s earliest was today 3/25. Ortho is referring her to Children’s oncology in Birmingham. She has a tumor growing in her tibia causing swelling in her knee. We won’t know any more details until we meet with Children’s. I’ll keep everyone updated when we get an appointment and more information.
