There’s no denying that a home that looks well-kept will sell faster than one that has been neglected. But if you’re thinking about selling your home, you might be wondering: should I make repairs before I list my home?
The answer is: it depends on the type of repair you need to make.
Some factors to consider:
1. Is it a hot real estate market?
2. Are most homes selling as-is?
3. Are the repairs major, and will buyers likely discount their offers due to this?
Also, some repairs may offer a high ROI, including replacing windows and roofs.
At the very minimum, consider fixing anything that’s worn and torn. If your budget allows, go for larger repairs.

If you’re ready to take the leap into home ownership, it’s important to know how to prepare yourself. Here are some tips:
1. Boost your credit score. Your credit score is an important factor in whether or not you’ll be approved for a mortgage loan. If yours isn’t as high as you’d like, make sure to review it thoroughly and make any necessary changes.
2. Save money for a down payment. The more money you can put toward your down payment, the better chance you have at getting approved for a loan—and the lower your monthly payments will be!
3. Get pre-approved by a lender. Pre-approval means that lenders have already looked over your financial situation and determined that they are willing to give you a loan if needed; this will help them move more quickly when it comes time to close on the deal!
