Alpha Delta Pi

Summer break offers a great opportunity to get outside. Whether to enjoy the great outdoors or explore far corners of the world, sisters have always loved to travel together. Swipe for some of the most iconic travel and outdoor photos from the of our 175 years.

1. Beta Upsilon sisters from UNC Chapel Hill take to the beach in spring 2020, days before the COVID-19 pandemic closed schools.

2. Gamma Pi sisters from Wagner College overlook the ocean in Rhode Island in 1984 during a visit to Gamma Lambda chapter.

3. Beta Kappa sisters from the University of British Columbia at their chapter retreat at a farm in Pemberton, British Columbia, in 1998.

4. Alpha Pi sisters Ann Sweeney and Joan Feder, chapter president and vice-president, were members of the George Washington sailing team in 1953.

5. Eta Alpha sisters from UNC Wilmington members visit chapter sister Macon Poundstone, while she studied abroad in Ireland in 2024.

6. In 1956, eight Beta Beta–Tennessee, Chattanooga sisters traveled to Daytona Beach to celebrate graduation. This photo (as cropped) appeared on a greeting card in 2006 sold through Cracker Barrel restaurants. As late as 2008, the Diamond Dames were still friends who gathered for bridge and book club. They recreated the photo at Daytona Beach a few times.

10. Following the 1961 Grand Convention in Pasadena, California, a group of sisters flew to Hawaii for a house party. When they arrived in Honolulu, they were met with traditional leis and kisses as they alighted from the airplane.

11. During a trip to Disneyland in 2008, Cinderella’s mice posed with sisters from Zeta Pi – San Diego.
