These last couple of weeks have been purposeful & fulfilling in a number of ways. Prior to participating in FAMU’s homecoming hosting a pitch competition for the school of business & industry, I took a trip to Chicago to attend the 33rd annual Gateway for cancer research gala.

This event was serendipitous due to fact that my mother who transitioned from ovarian cancer birthday was the same day of the event. So this was a celebration of life, research & philanthropy towards saving lives. I’m currently working with & on developing a prototype sweater & garments that serve the purpose of elevating cancer patients mental state while also serving as a functional garment to assist them in having easy port access for vital fluids by their shoulder. In speaking with the Director of Informatics at the University of Chicago who conducts clinical trials, they want to engage in more research on how cancer patients having a positive mental attitude towards their appearance can assist in their recovery.

They believe in my concept of providing garments that could help them feel as elegant as the gala we attended during their recovery. This aligns with the theory of your thoughts become your reality.
