I am pleased to share the completed photos of a new residence for wonderful clients in Colleton River Club. To preserve the health of a magnificent live oak at the front of the property, we were granted a variance allowing us to position the residence further into the rear setback. This thoughtful adjustment enabled us to design the home in harmony with its natural surroundings.

The main entrance is intentionally aligned with the majestic oak, and the architectural design—from orientation to window placement—frames views of this tree and the serene Lowcountry landscape throughout the home. The office and dining room face the front to frame views of the oak and the landscape while a bonus room with a terrace was added to provide a peaceful space beneath the oak’s canopy perfect for quiet reflection and connection to nature.

Architecture is more than the structure itself; it is about the relationship between the building and its site, the seamless connection between indoors and outdoors. When done with care and intention, architecture becomes a quiet backdrop that elevates the beauty of nature.

This beautiful home in Colleton River Club, Bluffton was design to pay homage to two magnificent live oaks on the site. The main entrance to the home aligns with one of these majestic oaks. Imaging looking out the glass entrance foyer with this view! The layout of the home was coordinated with an arborist to maintain the health of the tree and its limbs. This design is finally coming to life and I will post more progress shots soon.
