Let's talk money 🤑
One of the topics we cover in Business Planning 101 is getting investors to cut the check. Students will receive a list of angel investors to connect/pitch to. During the program we will cover everything needed in your business plan and pitch deck that you intend to give to investors or submit for grants.
Now for alllllll the tea, you have to apply to Business Planning 101, but I did want to share 3 important things to know before you reach out to that investor, apply for that business loan, or submit that grant application.
➡ What is your industry or cause? Most investors look to invest in specific industries or causes. Grant applications sometimes specify what type of businesses they are looking to reward. You need to be clear on this so you know where to look and who to reach out to.
➡ Just as your consumers care most about the outcome, so do investors. Why does the world need what you are offering? And by world, I specifically mean your targeted audience. Why does your business solution matter to them? Why will they invest? During Business Planning 101 we will actually discuss how to actually prove proof of concept and viability (even if you are just getting started.)
➡ Unless it is a grant, investors want to be confident in the fact that you can make their money back; and grants don't want to award a business that won't be around next year when they could have awarded one that would. Numbers matter. Utilize your market analysis and benchmark competitors to forecast your sales.
Is this something you need more help with? Click the link to apply to Business Planning 101. Next round of acceptance letters go out Friday.

Soooo as I was creating this meme, I saw what my clients mean when they say I drag them 😅
But look somebody had to tell y'all because no matter how much I preach narrow down your target audience it's still not resonating with everybody. I created a free checklist (under freebies in my bio link) to help y'all out so I definitely would encourage you to download it if you know your audience is not properly defined, are struggling to attract your target audience in your messaging, or do good at securing leads but once you do they hit you with "not at this time," or "it's not in my budget."
3 vital questions from my Checklist that I want you to address:
➡ Life stage: Everyone talks about age range but life stage is more important. I'm 29, not married with no kids. What I am willing and able to invest in at this stage of my life is different from a 29 year old single mom or 29 year old married woman. Of course, have an age range for your target audience but be advised, life stage can be more crucial than age range in some cases.
➡ Full-time entrepreneur vs. 9-5er with a business: So many people say their target audience is entrepreneurs . . . okkaayy it's 2021 everybody is an entrepreneur. Besides their industry and how long they have been in business, where do they fall in their entrepreneurial journey? How you market to an entrepreneur that has a 9-5 will not be the same as one that is full-time. Take for instance something as simple as going live. If your ideal client is a 9-5er with a business and you go live weekdays at 1pm, you're missing your ideal client sis.
➡ Emotional drivers: What drives your ideal client to learn more, join your email list, book the program, buy the course? Are you speaking to those pain points in your marketing? If you think you are but your business is not experiencing growth, I hate to break it to you but you are not. You need to go back to the drawing board and dive deeper. Connection leads to conversion.
What you do is irrelevant if you are not marketing it to the right people. Take some time to thoroughly answer these questions. I don't want y'all out here looking bad, get to your bag 🤑
I think y’all forget I’m a corporate consultant by trade, own a global business management company, and studied strategic planning at the Master’s AND Doctorate level – I'm not your average business coach and my business plans aren’t those 2-page templates you see IG ads for 😴
When I build a business plan, I study the company’s industry and market trends, do an extensive swot and steep analysis, gather data to forecast potential earnings, map out a strategic plan for the future of the company, and much more.
My business planning template walks you through the preliminary thought pattern of my process. It asks you powerful questions so that you can begin to build an effective plan of action for your business.
Now of course the actual building is your responsibility. I’m not going to build your plan for you, but I do want to provide you with a tool that can help.
This is what I created to help me build business plans for consulting clients and what I expose my 1-on-1 coaching clients to when they are building their business.
I am doing a special to celebrate the start of a new month, new quarter, and new half 🎉

This goes out to all my perfectionists.
I used to be a perfectionist.
When you are striving to produce something that is high quality or you’re an overachiever, I think it’s easy to cross the line. But I realized I was allowing my desire for perfection to get in the way of my progression, and that became a problem.
No one and nothing is perfect. So all me striving for perfection did was delay my ex*****on and add unnecessary stress. Can anyone relate?!
Instead of working towards perfection in your business, work to create and build a plan of ex*****on that you can commit to.
A plan that will push you towards achieving your goals and not keep you running on the wheel like a hamster.
Progression > Perfection
✨ Start where you are.
✨ Use what you have.
✨ Do what you can.
If you’re ready to create a plan that will put you on the path to continuous progression, shoot me a DM to receive my business planning template 🤗
