Dixie Art

It has been a while since I have posted a commissioned work on here. This piece took 5 + months of communicating thru text and phone calls to complete. I worked mostly from her verbal descriptions of a vision she had of a childhood memory. She had absolutely no photos of her horse or photos of herself at this age. She did send many other photos of herself and other photos to help discribe what she invisioned. She deserves much credit for her ability to express her vision, time spent communicating changes/ additions needed, most of all her patience with me and my irregular life events... Shipped today - "This Is Us"- acrylic - grayscale - 18"×24". This one was a challenge. It took many redos, trial and error, and perseverance on parts of it, and that does not even count varnish and shading problems. I had to have lots of input through text from Michelle (lady in painting) and many many photos to get it right. Inspration photo pictured, but about 6-7 other photos were used to make changes to background, clothes, people, and chair to get this composition... But, we finally did it.
