Y’all, I’m kinda in love with some new clients. First of all, they’re super fun — lots of banter and laughter (5⭐️ bonus there); second, they want their home to be fun and drama and **color**, and I’m like, “ummm, YAHHH!” … but this — THIS — is I just think they’re the best: the husband sneak-texted me during our consultation at their new home about surprising his lovely wife with a **FABULOUS** lady closet! 👗👠👡👛👒 … How sweet is that?! … No spoilers — it’s already been presented, so I can write about it now. 😁 … This is the design she chose. Glamtastic-n-sexy, huh?? She was so thrilled. Gesturing at the rendering, she said “THIS is me. … But how? You don’t really know me, but you GOT me!” … Seriously, y’all, no greater compliment! I just told her it’s my gift … It’s said that the women in my family have been known to “know things”. Maybe that's it? Maybe it is; maybe not, but I like to think that I’m pretty good at nailing it … 😎

The smile factor is a huge success barometer for me with my designs. I like to pull it all together and then let it sit and marinate for a little while. When I come back, if it doesn’t put a smile on my face, I know something’s missing. Sometimes, though, it all comes together like coconut & rum 🍹💥💚… Like this recent master bath concept. I mean, I just *love it* … the saturated green tile, that coral shower floor tile, the gold fixtures playing off the thorns in the cactus wallpaper … GAH! Wouldn’t this be an amazing space to walk into every morning?? 😍💚💚💚 @ Atlanta, Georgia

I don’t know about y’all, but I’ve been spending a LOT of time in my kitchen lately. And, I mean, I love to cook and all, but dang I’m starting to really miss paying someone to bring me food whilst I sit prettily in a cute outfit, sipping an amazing cocktail by Atlanta’s latest nominee (best bar program -- congrats, btw, guys!!) … … i miss that ... soon enough though! …

ANYWAY! I digress … KITCHENS! Before the quarantine hit, we were able to have this kitchen remodel photographed by the amazing duo that is Djaren Photography and I’m finally getting around to posting the photos. (Big props to Djaren for coming out on an epically nasty day, BTW). The teeny tiny kitchen in this ‘50s ranch was so outdated and entirely unsuited for a single dad with two teens, so we took down some dividing walls and opened up the kitchen to the living/dining areas. To keep costs down, we went with Semihandmade cabinets fronts on boxes, and of course that generous island just makes life better in general. 😎
