NEIL CARR, born as a native of Los Angeles, California; was raised in Wilmington, Delaware. He is a 1998 graduate of Howard High School of Technology where he focused his education in Television Production. All three sports he lettered in Varsity throughout his high school career, which lead to an opportunity to play quarter back as a Delaware State Hornet. Early in his career he injured his right
shoulder, which put a halt to his ability to properly perform his tasks as QB, and ultimately ended his football career. Unbeknownst to him, this injury was a blessing in disguise, it would open up the gates for him to focus his time and energy solely on acting and production. Neil went on to obtain his Bachelors of Arts Degree majoring in Television Production. His journey of becoming an actor began the summer of 2001 when Neil met his mentor Sherry Dorsey on the set of a movie that she was producing in his neighborhood. Dorsey, production and acting further intrigued his young inquisitive mind; sparking the passion and soon to be purpose he would pursue. In 2003 Carr attended the School of Film and Television in Manhattan, New York. During his duration there he met Greg Morris, a Los Angeles native play write who showcased his talent in the hit play The Dreamer alongside the great talent Shirley Murdock. This enabled him to make a connection with Kash Goins, the creator of GoKash Productions and the Philadelphia Urban Theatre Festival. These relationships led to his roles in VI Degrees, VII Deadly Sins, Man, I Shoulda’ Put a Ring On It and Single Black Female. He continued his theatre work with Girl; it’s Time to Move On, Watermelon Cornbread and Fences. In his spare time he was a contracted drama teacher at Christiana Culture Arts Center. This allowed him to spend time with the elementary children of the City of Wilmington teaching drama at inner City Schools. He also began his love for fitness, certified through YMCA and further with his ACE certification. Neil’s early on screen appearances include: 3 episodes of The Wire and an ESPN Monday Night Football Promo for the Washington Red Skins and Philadelphia Eagles Commercial. Neil not only made a name for himself in the acting community but also was also quickly becoming an industry favorite in the modeling and fashion world. He could be seen modeling for: Charlie Mack Celebrity Urban Fashion Week, Philly Fashion Week, Nostic, New York Urban Fashion Week and Bronner Brothers Fashion Shows. He continued making waves in the Philadelphia Tri-State area after being voted one of the Delaware Valley's "Sexiest Singles" a contest run by the Philadelphia Daily News.
2007 marked yet another pivotal year for Neil, he began working on an interactive outreach improv program that would highlight important topics for children and young adults such as domestic violence, bullying and financial literacy. While working on these projects Neil met Tim Fontaine, the Wiz. Tim is a talented cinematographer who is the founder and owner of Fontaine Vision, a video production company. Tiffany Yancey another key asset to the creative circle was introduced, she is an amazing writer and actress. Simultaneously another budding relationship would arise with fellow actor and soon to be business partner, Todd Anthony. The duo went on to co-produce the suspenseful thriller Split Second and a romantic comedy Love Him or Leave Him, which was shot by The Wiz and written by Ms. This creative visionary crew would come together as ‘Fontaine & Carr Film Group.’
In 2013 Neil decided that it was time to expand to a bigger market and he packed up and moved to Atlanta, GA. Atlanta has treated Neil well, he has been seen in: Being Mary Jane, Survivors’ Remorse, the Haves and Have Nots, Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2. Most recently Neil landed on the Bounce Network most watched TV show, Saints and Sinners. Here Neil plays Maxwell Wallace, a charming enforcer alongside Clifton Powell. Neil has rocked the airwaves in this television series for its first two seasons. With all of these accolades that Neil Carr has received he has successfully set the bar for what he has achieved with creating his own self-brand, #FollowTheCarr.
