This is your reminder that good photos aren’t always about having the “most.” Sometimes it’s about having somebody behind the camera that knows how to see the vision and bring it to life!

You want it? I’ll get it done. Just send me your inspo 😏🤞🏽

The setup vs the shot ✨

Sometimes it’s not about having the craziest setup — it’s about knowing how to see the vision before the camera even comes up 🤝🏾🌻

A simple location, good light, intentional details, and a beautiful mama. That’s all we needed 💛

Come with me to my baby cousin’s birthday shoot 🥹🎥✨

This setup was lowkey a “make it happen” moment because the studio lights wouldn’t turn off… so yes, I literally had to build a whole fort around the setup to control the light for the projector 😭 creative problem solving at its finest. We can literally do ANYTHING you want! Just send me the inspiration 🤞🏽😏

For lighting, I kept it simple with a one light setup using a beauty dish + grid. The grid helped control light spill so the projector image wouldn’t get washed out and kept the focus exactly where I wanted it. Honestly, shoutout to .png because he’s the one that gave us the idea to use the beauty dish with the grid in the first place 😭🔥

PNG University (.kulture) really be teaching you how to THINK through lighting setups instead of just copying them. Definitely one of those moments where understanding lighting changed the entire shoot.

Equipment Used:
Canon R8
24-70 2.8 EF
Beauty Dish + Grid
Moving Blankets
Projector on Amazon for less than $50

Watching love turn into a family will never get old to me. 🤍

The direction, the soft moments, the little adjustments, the laughs in between poses… all of it matters because the goal is never to just “take pictures.” It’s to make their love feel real on camera.

There’s something so special about documenting the season right before everything changes forever. Baby already so loved before even getting here 🫶🏽

“What do you do?”

I usually just say I’m a photographer because it’s easier than explaining what it feels like to build something from nothing.

Easier than explaining the sleepless nights, the self-doubt, the risk, the pressure, the creativity, the isolation, the discipline it takes to keep showing up for a dream nobody can fully see but you.

A camera may be what’s in my hands, but entrepreneurship is what’s shaping me.

The photos are just the proof that I didn’t give up.

The second I realized I forgot my Bowens mount adapter my heart DROPPED 😭 because without it I couldn’t connect any of my modifiers to my light… and lighting is literally what shapes the entire mood of a photo.

At that moment it stopped being about the equipment and became pure creative problem solving. I’m turning around scanning the room, thinking about light direction, shadows, spill, what I can bounce, what I can control, and how I can still create the look I had in my head with what’s available.

People think photography is just owning a camera, but so much of it is learning how to adapt when things don’t go as planned and still making the vision come to life 📸

“watch my brain work in 30 seconds” episode 2 😂

At this point I think this might really become a series because my brain genuinely never stops creating 😭

The model pulled up and next thing you know I’m dragging the futon onto the backdrop because I’m ALWAYS scanning the room for potential. Props, colors, textures, lighting, random furniture… I’m gonna find a way to make it work every time.

A lot of the creative process really happens in real time and somehow it always comes together 😂

Shoutout to my girl .reeeee for trusting the vision 🫶🏽

Photos dropping soon 👀

Some people see photos as just pictures… but moments like this remind me why I do what I do 🥹🤍

Getting videos from my Heartlens mommies showing their images printed, framed, and living inside their homes will never get old. Knowing I captured a moment that gets to be felt every single day? Yeah… that warms my heart every time.

These are more than photos to me. They become part of your story, your family, your memories forever 🫶🏾

Thank you .deoni for allowing me to be apart of yours 🥹🫶🏽

Come join the Heartlens family 🤍

People quit the 9-5 thinking entrepreneurship means freedom… whole time you just become responsible for every single thing 😭

The marketing, the planning, the client communication, the editing, the late nights, the early mornings… it never really “turns off.” But there’s something rewarding about building a life and business that’s actually yours.

Half the battle of creative shoots be figuring out how to MAKE it work 😭

The studio lights were motion sensored and wouldn’t turn off, so I literally started building a whole little fort to block out light for this projector setup 💀

First idea? Didn’t work.
Second setup? Still wasn’t giving.
Then I realized I needed the setup horizontal instead of vertical… so I had to move everything around AGAIN 😭

But one thing about me? If I have a vision, I’m going to figure it out. That’s the part people don’t always see behind photography — problem solving, adapting, testing things, and sometimes building random blanket forts in the middle of a studio just to get the shot 😂

Being creative isn’t always pretty, but the final image always makes it worth it 📸
