Friends of the Alpharetta Library Needs our Help!!!
The Friends of the Alpharetta Library hosts a booksale once a month and runs a bookstore in the Alpharetta Library that is open 6 days a week. Due to several recent medical issues of key volunteers, they are in desperate need of some additional volunteers.
The biggest need is managing the booksale setup and breakdown. Most needed are organized people for managing these processes. Their current booksale manager will be unable to work August through December sales, but can train someone in June and July.
🛻Additionally, they need more drivers 2 days a month 🛻
📚💪📦They always welcome youth volunteers or adult volunteers for moving the tables and books on those 2 days a month. Setup is typically on a Tuesday or Wednesday & the breakdown is from 4-6pm on the day of the Saturday sale.
⭐Volunteering with Friends of the Alpharetta Library provides a sense of accomplishment, aide to the community, and volunteer service hours. This is a great addition to a resume or college application as well. Recommendation letters can be provided for volunteers that are consistent, reliable, & volunteer at least 20 hours a year with their team.⭐
Additional benefits include: first look at books, discount on purchases, fun team to work with, and a workout without need to pay a gym membership!! 😊
🏪📚 💵💲Additional volunteers also needed in the bookstore. Shifts are generally 2-3 hours & involve cashier activities, straightening, & sorting/pricing books.

Based on the novel Three Bags Full by Leonie Swann. George Hardy (Hugh Jackman) is a shepherd who loves his sheep and raises them only for their wool. Every night he reads aloud a murder mystery, pretending his sheep can understand, never suspecting that not only can they understand but they argue for hours afterwards about whodunnit. When George is found dead under mysterious circumstances, the sheep realize at once that it was a murder and think they know everything about how to go about solving it. The local cop has never solved a serious crime in his life, so the sheep conclude they will have to solve it themselves, even if it means leaving their meadow for the first time and facing the fact that the human world isn't as simple as it appears in books. The Sheep Detectives is rated PG and opens in theaters on May 8, 2026.
