NELA Georgia, the Georgia affiliate of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA), is a civil rights bar association of lawyers who bring actions to ensure equal employment opportunity for all, and to vindicate the rights of individuals to fairness and justice in the workplace. We had a great day yesterday with the return of our in-person annual CLE seminar. Thanks to all who joined us, and a special thanks to our presenters and to NELA-GA board member Paul Sharman for chairing it.

We rounded out the day with a professionalism presentation from U.S. District Judge Steven Grimberg of the Northern District of Georgia. He led what turned into a round-table-style discussion with our members about professionalism, litigating heated cases, court procedures, and what is working well and where there is room for improvement in the court’s local rules and individual judges’ practices.

Darrell Graham, the Director of the EEOC’s Atlanta District Office, provided a legal update and answering attorneys’ questions about charge intake, the infamous EEOC portal, personnel matters, and other things. Invaluable insight into the agency’s important work for our clients.
