Hey, I’m Brandon! I’m new to the FFK9 team, but my passion for animals is nothing new. I’ve had just about every kind of pet you can think of - from turtles and parakeets to dogs. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, I moved to Monroe, Georgia at a young age, where I grew up around dogs, especially hunting dogs in the countryside.
I currently work in law enforcement and have experience working alongside K9 units from various agencies, though I am not currently assigned to one. I’m also connected with the owner of Georgia Emergency Search and Rescue and preparing to begin working with one of their dogs.
My training journey began in 2019 while studying psychology at Georgia State University, where I discovered a passion for dog behavior and training. I first applied those concepts helping my ex’s Cane Corso, Saphira, overcome severe separation anxiety. From there, I advanced her obedience by teaching tasks such as holding doors open and retrieving household items. That experience confirmed I had found something I was meant to do.
Soon after, I worked with a reactive German Shepherd named Sam who was close to being rehomed because of behavioral issues. Through structured training and behavior modification, I was able to help keep Sam with her family. As word spread, more owners began reaching out for help, and what started as passion quickly became purpose.
Today, my work continues to grow through social media and word-of-mouth. I focus on building trust, clear communication, and lasting relationships between dogs and their owners. I’ve also completed professional coursework, including Theory & Principles of Modern Dog Training with Justin Rigney. I specialize in obedience, reactivity, and one of my favorite areas of training - teaching dogs to use their nose and tap into their natural instincts.
