Literally a year ago we were laughing, dancing and talking about how dance has evolved over the years. 💔

I didn’t have the emotional capacity to share yesterday but as I settled in this morning one thing resonates with me most. How important it is to love on one another.

After losing my partner by su***de in 2013, I whole heartedly believe that people experiencing the weight of the world and struggling to hold on need more humanity, community, love, kindness, support and safe spaces with people they trust.

The safe space is the most important because the pain bottled up maintaining society’s standard of living is harming most of us.

I know it’s a difficult topic but until we open our hearts and minds to supporting each other through the uncomfortable conversations and times, moments like losing Twitch, a beautiful light, will continue to happen.

I’m still very much so sad and triggered to know what Allison and the kids are going through because I lived it. The Boss family welcomed us in as dance community member and were so kind and loving to Serenity and I during our time together. They deserve the same from all of us.

As a suggestion, instead of “check on your strong friends” in times of tragedy, let’s start really checking on our community members, giving people the benefit of the doubt and being kind just because we love them and want to see them well. When I check on you, send a “random” message know it’s because I know we all need it. Let’s normalize being more human over transactional with one another.
