The sub-endometrium is typically less than 1 cm thick or less than the width of a finger. When the sub-endometrium exceeds 1.2 cm, it is due to a condition called adenomyosis. This is often accompanied by cystic changes in the sub-endometrium which are easily seen on a magnetic resonance imaging exam of the pelvis but often misdiagnosed on ultrasound imaging. That is why MRI makes it the gold standard for imaging fibroids or adenomyosis.
While the uterine enlargement from significant adenomyosis is often appreciated on pelvic ultrasound, the thickening of the sub-endometrium and cystic changes are often missed. Not uncommonly, the patientβs adenomyosis is not recognized or mistakenly diagnosed as uterine fibroids.

When you are at your most vulnerable and having an intimate moment the last thing you want to be worried about is va**nal bleeding after s*x. Research shows that over 60% of postmenopausal women experience bleeding after s*x and around 10% of pre-menopausal women bleed during or after having s*x.
You may become worried and ask yourself βIs bleeding after s*x normal?β Bleeding during or after s*x can happen for a variety of reasons, and it may be nothing to be concerned about or it may warrant a trip to your OB-GYN.
Postcoital bleeding (PCB) is the medical term for a condition where a woman experiences va**nal spotting or bleeding after s*xual in*******se. The condition can manifest with or without pain. Often, the cause is something that can be easily addressed, but, in rare cases, the underlying cause can be serious.
A small amount of spotting once in a while is normally nothing to worry about, but if it occurs on a regular basis then you should make an appointment with your OB-GYN to rule out any serious conditions.

Generally, a womanβs abdomen is soft, but fibroids are usually hard as rocks and this difference may be felt when a woman tries to figure out why she is βpoochyβ. Many women are diagnosed with fibroids at their routine OB-GYN appointment during their pelvic exam because the doctor can feel these hard fibroids.
Before her appointment, she may have thought that she was experiencing bloating and a protruding abdomen due to the normal progression of aging or lack of physical exercise. A bloated lower pelvic area may be the first sign of fibroids and unfortunately, no amount of targeted exercises can address bloating that is caused by fibroids.
