rial, Fernandez reached out to longtime friend and fellow guitarist Scott Whited in the spring of 2013 to write a song for the high school talent show. The song was extremely well received and ushered in a new era of creativity among the musicians. Backstage, Sam Warren, who had been an independent musician for the months prior to this show, vowed to join in this new group. That summer, the trio wrote several songs, and upon experimenting with recording, decided a bass player was essential to the new sound they were creating. In early August, Jaon Matthew Bartels attended his first practice and fit like a glove. Chi Gun was formed and the music hasn't stopped flowing since.
