🌟 Class Spotlight: BEGINNERS Spanish Playclass
At long last, we are offering class options for true beginners!!!
Our Spanish Playclasses for Beginners are upbeat, interactive Spanish classes that keep fun at the center of learning. Offered for ages 3-8, these beginner level classes are for learners who are new to Spanish and ready to dive in!
We present Spanish to our students through silly games, on-screen visuals, songs and music, hands-on activities and projects, and more. Keep in mind that our beginner classes are not full immersion, but rather include pockets of immersion followed by discussion where we’ll break down the language and help students hone in on key words and phrases. Class atmosphere includes lots of repetition, silliness, and positive reinforcement. All of this comes together in a way that allows students to practice their language skills in an stress-free setting.
What you’ll need: Some basic creative materials; we’ll let you know in advance!

About the instructor: Miss Emily is a dedicated Spanish tutor who knows exactly what it takes to become fluent in a second language, because she’s done so herself! Emily holds a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of North Florida, where she also minored in Spanish in order to dive deeper into the language that she was already so passionate about.
In 2010 Emily visited Costa Rica 🇨🇷 for the first time and was enchanted by the language, people, and culture. She has spent a considerable amount of time there ever since and now considers Costa Rica her second home.
Miss Emily is passionate about bilingualism and now teaches Spanish both locally and online, using strategies that helped her become fluent over the years such as play-based learning, immersion, and relating the language to daily life.

🌟 Class Spotlight: Literatura Infantil 📚
We’re spotlighting different classes from our class offerings this semester and first up is this book club / story time / Spanish immersion class all wrapped up in one!
In Literatura Infantil we’ll explore a curated list of Spanish picture books, both modern and classic. Students will get to read the story, talk about the illustrations, and do activities centered around the themes from the book. Students will learn how to relate their life experiences and background knowledge to themes of a story, as well as learn a lot of new vocabulary presented in the books!
Each week features a new book, conversation prompts, and hands-on activities that go with the story. For example, we may choose “La Maleta de Tesoros” and have students pack a suitcase or backpack with some of their favorite items to show the class.
There will also be opportunities for students to share their thoughts and relate their experiences to the ones they read about in the book.
What you’ll need: The books of the week and household items 😊 We’ll let you know what you’ll need each week 🤍 You’ll receive the book list in advance to familiarize yourself with the titles beforehand :) (And so you can get them from the library if possible!)
