Lundgaard Love

Congratulations to Quinn Hoffmann, the first recipient of the Mitch Lundgaard Memorial Scholarship at Kimberly High School!
The Lundgaard Love Foundation is proud to continue growing the impact of the Mitch Lundgaard Memorial Scholarship. After establishing scholarships at Green Bay Southwest High School and the Appleton Area School district, we were honored to add Kimberly High School this year as well. Because Mitch was raising his family in the Kimberly community and his children attend Kimberly schools, it felt especially meaningful to establish a scholarship here as well.
The Mitch Lundgaard Memorial Scholarship was created to honor Mitch’s legacy of perseverance, teamwork, integrity, leadership, and service to others. It recognizes student-athletes who demonstrate those same qualities both on and off the field.
Quinn was selected for his outstanding essay on resilience and leadership after overcoming a season-ending football injury. Rather than stepping away, he continued to lead, support his teammates, mentor others, and make a positive impact on those around him—a reflection of the values this scholarship was designed to recognize.
We were also inspired by Quinn’s future plans to attend the United States Air Force Academy and serve as an Air Force pilot. Mitch often said that if he had not become a firefighter, his dream job would have been to serve as a pilot in the Air Force, making this year’s award especially meaningful to our family.
Congratulations, Quinn! We are excited to see all that you accomplish and are honored to have you as the first Kimberly High School recipient of this scholarship.
Thank you to Kimberly High School for helping us launch this scholarship and for celebrating students who exemplify leadership, resilience, and a commitment to serving others. ❤️

The Lundgaard Love Foundation is proud to announce Ian Jones as the recipient of the 2026 Mitch Lundgaard Memorial Scholarship at Green Bay Southwest High School.
This is our second year awarding this scholarship at Southwest — a school that holds a very special place in our hearts. Mitch graduated from Southwest High School, where he played soccer all four years and built lifelong memories, friendships, and lessons through athletics.
The Mitch Lundgaard Memorial Scholarship honors student-athletes who demonstrate perseverance, teamwork, integrity, leadership, and a commitment to serving others — the same qualities Mitch carried throughout his life as an athlete, firefighter, teammate, and friend.
Ian’s application and essay stood out immediately to our reviewers. After suffering a season-ending ACL injury at the start of his senior soccer season, Ian chose not to step away from his team. Instead, he continued showing up every day — mentoring teammates, helping lead from the sidelines, and supporting the player stepping into his role. His essay reflected incredible maturity, resilience, humility, and selflessness.
His coach shared that Ian “selflessly gave his time, instead of being bitter of his injury, and set an example for others to follow.” That spirit of leadership and perseverance is exactly what this scholarship was created to recognize.
Congratulations, Ian! We are honored to celebrate you and excited to see all you accomplish in the future. ❤️
