atching car racing, jet ski racing, Monster Jam, and freestyle dirt bikes, so it was no surprise when she found her own passion for racing. She now practices nearly every day, building her skills and staying ready for the next gate drop. Brett Shepherd, Madison’s dad, mechanic, and mentor, works endlessly to keep her quads in top shape. He’s one of the best mechanics you’ll find at the track, always making sure Madison is ready to compete at her best. The Shepherd family is always willing to help other ATV riders, with Madison’s mom, Heidi, also serving as the rider rep for the D14 ATV MX organization. Weekends are spent at the track as a family with her mom, Heidi, twin sister, Isabelle, and their dog, Elka. Madison is fast, skilled, confident, and calm on the track while staying humble and focused. One of our favorite Madison moments was when she asked a flagger for a wrench during a race, showing how well she understands her machines and proving her strong determination. Madison races primarily in the National ATV MX Series and the D14 ATV MX Series, but she loves hitting up local tracks and racing wherever she can. She would never show up and tell you she’s one of the top riders in the nation, but the second she hits the track, it shows. Her calm racer IQ, skill, and drive to get better every lap are what set her apart, whether she’s racing a national or just putting in laps at a local track she loves. For Madison, racing isn’t just a sport; it’s what she loves to do with her family and where she feels most at home.
