: 8 a.m. Update: At approximately 2:30 a.m. DOT&PF Maintenance crews responded by using sawsalls (saws that can cut through metal) to dismantle the decking and caging that had fallen onto the Seward Highway. We then used front end loaders to move the debris off the highway and sweepers to ensure that smaller metal components were off the highway. We have personnel stationed at the area to monitor the situation.

The bridge superstructure remains intact and our bridge engineers are responding to conduct an inspection as quickly as possible.

7:45 a.m. storm update: At approximately 2:30 a.m. Jan. 12, the Rabbit Creek Pedestrian Bridge was severely damaged, and the debris fell into the Seward Highway. The debris has been moved and all lanes of the are now open. We will share more information as we can.
