I had a fantastic time last night at the annual ACSA Administrators of the Year celebration. I am so proud of Principal Stephanie Shumate, the principal of Sunkist Elementary School, one of the 5 elementary schools in D5 that I proudly represent. This is a well deserved recognition for all the AMAZING things Principal Shumate does for our Sunkist scholars and our community. So proud! Congrats Principal Shumate!!! 🎉👏🏽🥳

Last Wednesday, I had such a blast at the Anaheim Elementary Succeeds soccer championship. This event was even more special to me because one of the schools fighting to be the champion was none other than Edison Elementary School, a school in D5 that I proudly represent. Edison played fantastic and in the end, ended up beating Patrick Henry, who also played well. Good times were had by all, especially all our students and families from the Edison community who came out to cheer on their fellow Eagles. Great job Edison!!!

At our board meeting last week, we had the honor of recognizing our 2025-2026 classified employeees of the year! I firmly believe AESD has some of the BEST classified employees in the county. Their hardwork and dedication to our students is seen every day. A special thank you to all our amazing classified employees!
