Based on the 2000 Academy Award nominated film and winner of 10 Tony Awards in 2009 including Best Musical, Billy Elliot is the story of a young boy in a depressed mining town in England. Set during the 1984 miners' strike, the show follows Billy as he discovers his unlikely gift for ballet. While his family takes to the picket lines, Billy secretly begins to study dance. As Billy blossoms and thrives, he realizes his only escape may be the Royal Ballet School, a place no working-class boy has ever gone before. **This production contains strong language**

Please be aware that Billy Elliot the Musical is not entirely family-friendly. Although this is the story of a young boy, it may not be suitable for all viewers. Dramatizations of the 1984 miners’ strike include mildly violent riots, and some scenes contain strong language spoken by adult and child actors. The overall theme, content, and story are not violent or derogatory, but some audience members may find it offensive or unsuitable for children.
