Split Tail Drifters Explore Swallow‑tailed kites slip through the storm‑lit sky, their forked tails carving clean lines against the shifting clouds. A quiet glide through weather and wind.

This little dragonfly was holding perfectly still just long enough for me to catch all that wing detail. Nature’s engineering is wild when you get close enough to see it.

Dragonfly at First Light

Resting in the quiet green of early morning, wings catching the first thin glow before the day warms. Soft air, still leaves, and a moment held between night and sun.

Nikon D500 Review 06/07/2026

Thanks to Wayne Dillon , I’ll be reviewing my footage from my new Nikon D500 this morning! It’s been a long time coming, and even though it’s an older model and not mirrorless, I did my research and, with my husband’s encouragement, decided to buy it new instead of refurbished or used. Since my main focus is wildlife, the camera’s strong ratings, even for its age, make it a fantastic choice!

"How does the Nikon D500 hold up today, given that it was announced in 2016? Even though some of its specifications lag behind the newest mirrorless cameras, the Nikon D500 remains arguably the most advanced APS-C DSLR ever made. It might stay that way forever, since most camera companies have now shifted focus toward mirrorless." Source link below!

A tiny meal for a tiny chick; these least terns, the smallest members of the tern family, are raising their young on the open sands of St. Augustine Beach in Florida.
