Potential for severe thunderstorms late tomorrow afternoon and evening for Eastern PA. The Storm Prediction Center has placed the entire region under enhanced risk for severe storms tomorrow. We will be watching as a line of strong storms should begin to form in the central part of the state during the early afternoon hours. This line will eventually reach the region by the late afternoon and early evening hours in the Lehigh Valley and Philly. There will be plenty of instability which will allow favorable conditions for this line to strengthen as it moves eastward.
What to be expected:
-Strong Damaging Winds up to 60-65 mph.
- Frequent Cloud to Ground Lightning
-Heavy Downpours
-Hail up to 1” in diameter
-Although the SPC has the region under the potential for a few tornadoes I believe this is rather low and would only occur if discrete cells form out ahead of the main line. So right now I believe the tornado threat is rather low.
We will be back on tomorrow with another update, so please stay tuned.
