There’s something called “the perceived scale of effort”. A lot of times we think we’re giving a 10/10 effort towards our goals but most of the time we are not giving 10/10 effort, and that’s okay. Being a 10 on the scale requires LOTS of sacrifice and that’s not always the best option for you. However, being realistic with yourself about HOW much sacrifice you WANT and CAN make will allow for your goals to become more realistic based off your actual effort level. There’s nothing wrong with being a 1/10 on the effort scale, but if you are giving 1/10 do not expect a 10/10 result.
