Sand Facts

‘...One day, the young student dared to ask, “Master, it is written that Our God knows all there is to know about sand.”

‘“Yes,” his master answered. “It is so.”

‘“Yet for millennia, our order has toiled away, compiling all the truths of the sand. Soon we will develop technology to uncover even the most hidden secrets of the sand! Right?”

‘“In a manner of speaking, yes.”

‘“What happens when we reach the Last Fact? When we know what He knows, will we come to be as Our God?

‘The great master stroked his sandy blond beard thoughtfully. He said, “Tell me, how many grains of sand are there are in the Sahara?”

‘“I don’t know,” said the student.

‘“Our God knows,” said the great master, “and He knows every one of them by name. He was there with them at the beginning and He will be there with them at the end. In comparison to His, our sand facts are no more than grains of sand in a desert.”

‘“Then why do we even pursue this knowledge?”

‘“Because each grain of sand we acquire brings with it more of the Desert.”’
