Albany Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred last evening on Central Avenue.
On Saturday, July 11, 2026 around 8:50 p.m., a CDTA bus driver notified police that a male had boarded the bus with a gunshot wound. Officers responded to the area of Central Avenue and Quail Street where they located a 33-year-old male on the bus suffering from gunshot wounds to his chest and arm.
The victim was treated by the Albany Fire Department and emergency medical personnel and transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital in stable condition.
Further investigation determined that the shooting incident occurred in the parking lot of McDonald’s located at 391 Central Avenue.
At this time the investigation remains ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Albany Police Detective Division at (518) 462-8039.
