Sunsets over the lake! 🌅

These are one of my favorite designs to create because the wood is so special. For the blue wood in my work I use found wood that gets this color from the fungus Chlorociboria aeruginascens or green elf cup.

These sunset designs utilize oak specifically for this blue hue. The way the fungus grows in oak creates these striations that look like waves.

Every pair is completely unique for this reason.

I just found more of this oak on our recent trip up north and am excited to slice in to see what I’ve found!
