Kitenge-or chitenge is a wax treated garment, often worn by women wrapped around the chest or waist, over the head as a head scarf or as a baby sling. It serves as an inexpensive, informal piece of clothing that is often decorated with a huge variety of colors, patterns, and even political slogans. The printing on the cloth is done by a traditional batik technique. A large variety of religious and political designs are found as well as traditional tribal patterns. TROPICAL MOOD are produced by a group of single mothers in one of the local communities in Uganda. The produce are distributed locally and internationally. Luccie Jensen's main objective is to support the group by providing their daily livelihood, to be productive, regain their self worth and to educate them by showing new skills and ideas to create a good quality merchandise.
