Winter returns to Istanbul with snowfall❄️
A long-awaited snowfall has finally hit Istanbul. It blanketed both European and Asian sides of the Turkish metropolis 😍
For some experts, it is the worst since 1987. In some places the depth of snow has reached 70 centimeters (27.56 inches)!
The municipality said crews deliver soup and water to motorists in case of traffic snarls, while homeless people and stray animals are hosted at shelters. No matter how much we love snow flakes, let's not forget about people struggling with the weather and let's help as much as we can❣️

Turkish families are preparing themselves to welcome 2022 at home in front of the television, in a way known as the PTT-style.
You may wonder what PTT-style means. 🤔 PTT is referred to as a 1970s joke for “Pyjama, Terlik, Television” in Turkish, which means home celebrations in pajamas, slippers, and lying in front of a television. 😂 I guess after this no need to mention that we have a very good sense of humor!
Anyways, the start of the New Year is one of our favorite holidays. We welcome the new year with magnificent fireworks displays, a huge midnight feast for the family, basketfuls of fruits. We love filling our bags with nuts and cookies. 😋
We hope you have a great time with your loved ones today as we do. Cheers to new beginnings and may this new year take you to places you've never been before. 🥂
Wishing you & yours a Happy New Year! ✨

Why do Turks love cats so much and why are cats treated so well in Turkey?
There is even a famous saying which is "If you have killed a cat, you need to establish a mosque to be forgiven by God.” Yes I know, sounds weird.🤷🏻♀️
There are some legends about why do we care about cats so much.
One of the most well-known reasons is the Prophet Muhammad's love of cats. Here is one of the most famous stories.
One day he heard the call to pray so he needed his garment but his cat was sleeping on his garment. He didn't want to disturb her and instead of waking her up, he cut the sleeve of his garment off🥲
No matter what, we Turkish people love cats and without the cat, Istanbul would lose a part of its soul💔
