They moved to Vava’u and built their Hakula Lodge in order to pursue what they love and to share the experience with guests from around the world. With nearly 20 years of experience fishing in the waters of Tonga, Jeff holds a variety of titles and achievements. He helped to create the Tonga International Fishing Association (TIGFA) and has served as its president for four terms; he directs tournaments; he was named fisherman of the year, twice; he hold records for notable catches and high angler scores; he has built his own boat. Janine prefers to spend her time in the garden, where she grows an array of tropical flowers, vegetables and herbs. She is also deeply involved in the local community, having recently opened a handicrafts store to allow craftsmen and women in the village to gain income from their trades.
