456 PROJECT– A camping lodge which embraces family warmth and integrates with nature
หากมีวันหยุดยาวหลังจากเวลางานอันแสนเหน็ดเหนื่อย หลายๆ คนก็คงเลือกหันเข้าหาธรรมชาติเพื่อปลดปล่อยความเครียดอันหนักอึ้งและซึมซับพลังความสดชื่นกลับไป เช่นเดียวกับเจ้าของ 456 Project ที่ต้องการใช้เวลาแคมป์ปิ้งกับครอบครัวท่ามกลางธรรมชาติหลังจากเคี่ยวกรำบนแท่นขุดเจาะน้ำมันมาเป็นเวลานาน และด้วยความชื่นชอบในงานอดิเรกนี้ จึงได้ตัดสินใจสร้างบ้านแคมป์ปิ้งและคาเฟ่ของตัวเองภายใต้บรรยากาศสงบสบายของจังหวัดจันทบุรี
เมื่อมองธรรมชาติเป็นบ้านหลังใหญ่ และอาคารเปรียบเสมือน shelter ที่ปกป้องให้ผู้อยู่อาศัยปลอดภัย ในขณะเดียวกันก็สามารถสัมผัสธรรมชาติได้ตลอดเวลา จึงเป็นที่มาของการหยิบ สถาปัตยกรรมพื้นถิ่นไทยซึ่งมีเอกลักษณ์แห่งการถ่อมตัวกับบริบทธรรมชาติ เรียบง่าย ตรงไปตรงมา มาประยุกต์ใช้ในการออกแบบ สถาปนิกได้วางตัวอาคารล้อมรอบคอร์ทยาร์ดสำหรับแคมป์ปิ้งตรงกลางซึ่งเป็นกิจกรรมหลักของครอบครัว เพื่อให้ตัวอาคารทำหน้าที่อำนวยความสะดวกให้กับกิจกรรมที่จะเกิดขึ้นตรงคอร์ทยาร์ดนี้ ทั้งปกป้องแสงแดด ช่วยสร้างร่มเงาให้คอร์ทยาร์ด ขณะเดียวกันก็ยกพื้นอาคารสูงเล็กน้อยเพื่อให้ลมสามารถพัดผ่านได้อย่างโปร่งโล่ง ในแง่ของความปลอดภัยและสร้างความเป็นส่วนตัวสำหรับบ้านชั้นเดียว โดยวางฟังก์ชันคาเฟ่ซึ่งเป็นโซน public ไว้ด้านหน้า ครัวและห้องรับประทานอาหารไว้ตรงกลาง และวางห้องนอนไว้ด้านในสุด และในแง่ประสบการณ์ผู้อยู่อาศัย ที่ให้พื้นที่ทุกส่วนของบ้านได้ใกล้ชิดกับธรรมชาติและมองเห็นคอร์ทยาร์ดแคมป์ปิ้งตลอดเวลา เพื่อช่วยสร้างบรรยากาศแห่งความสบายและอบอุ่นของการพักผ่อนในทุกๆ วัน
วัสดุท้องถิ่นเป็นองค์ประกอบสำคัญที่ก่อร่างสร้างอาคารให้มีกลิ่นอายกลืมกลืนไปกับบริบทโดยรอบ อย่างอิฐ หิน ซีเมนต์ และไม้ที่ทำหน้าที่เป็นโครงสร้างหลักของอาคารและเป็นเสน่ห์ของบ้านแคมป์ปิ้งแห่งนี้ โดยเฉพาะโครงหลังคาไม้ที่โชว์ความงามของสถาปัตยกรรมท้องถิ่นไทยอย่างเต็มที่ ขื่อ ดั้ง แป และองค์ประกอบหลังคาอื่นๆ วางเรียงกันในจังหวะเป็นระเบียบและเรียบง่าย จันทันยื่นยาวออกไปนอกอาคาร ก่อให้เกิดพื้นที่ใต้ชายคาอันเป็นสเปซเปลี่ยนถ่ายระหว่างธรรมชาติและภายในอาคารตามฉบับสถาปัตยกรรมท้องถิ่นไทย ซึ่งสามารถปรับเปลี่ยนการใช้สอยได้ตามช่วงเวลาของวัน ไม่ว่าจะเป็นชานนั่งเล่น เป็นทางเดิน หรือจะเป็นที่นั่งจิบชากาแฟก็ได้ และชายคานี้เองก็ยังช่วยปกป้องอาคารจากแสงแดดและลมฝน ช่วยลดการใช้พลังงาน เรียกได้ว่าตอบรับกับอากาศเขตร้อนชื้นได้ดีเลยทีเดียว
After a long and tiring work week, many people seek refuge in nature to relieve their heavy stress and recharge their energy. Similarly, the owner of 456 Project desired to spend quality camping time with their family amidst nature after working hard on a drilling rig for a long time. Driven by their passion for camping, they decided to build their own camping lodge and cafe in the peaceful ambience of Chanthaburi.
When we see nature as a vast home and buildings as shelters that protect inhabitants while allowing them to stay connected to nature at all times, it inspires a design approach that draws on Thai vernacular architecture, known for its unique characteristics of being humble with the natural ambience, simple and straightforward. The architect has placed the building around the central camping courtyard, which is the main activity of the family, so that the building can facilitate the activities that will take place. It protects the courtyard from direct sunlight and provides shade, while the floor is slightly elevated to allow for better airflow. In terms of safety and privacy for a single-story house, the cafe, which acts as a public zone, is situated at the front. Kitchen and dining areas are positioned in the middle and a bedroom at the back. Furthermore, in terms of user experience, every space in the house is designed to offer proximity to nature and views of the central camping courtyard, helping to create a sense of comfort and warmth for daily relaxation.
Local materials are an important element in creating a building that blends in with its surrounding context, such as bricks, stones, cement, and wood that serve as the primary structural elements, contributing to the charm of this camping lodge. Particularly, the wooden roof structure fully showcases the beauty of Thai vernacular architecture, with its orderly and simple arrangement of beams, king posts, purlins, and other components. The rafters extend outward from the building, creating an under-eave space that serves as a transitional space between nature and the interior of the building – a distinctive feature of Thai vernacular architecture. This space can be adapted for various uses throughout the day, for example, a sitting area, a walkway, or a tea and coffee corner. Moreover, the eaves provide protection from the sun and rain, reducing energy consumption, a well-responsive measure for the tropical climate.

BAAN VACHARAPHOL บ้านที่ถูกปรับให้ผู้อยู่อาศัย ได้สัมผัสกับธรรมชาติในทุกมุมของบ้าน
“A private house renovation that brings a touch of nature to every corner of the residence”
เมื่อมีสมาชิกใหม่เข้ามาเติมเต็มสีสันของครอบครัว บ้านจึงต้องพร้อมสำหรับการเติบโตของเด็กในแต่ละช่วงวัย อย่าง “บ้านวัชรพล” โครงการรีโนเวทบ้านจัดสรรเก่าสองชั้น ย่านสายไหม ที่ทางเจ้าของให้โจทย์มาว่า ต้องการได้สัมผัสและอยู่ร่วมกับธรรมชาติ ภายใต้บรรยากาศความเป็นบ้านในทุกๆ วัน
ดังนั้นจึงนำมาสู่การออกแบบสเปซ ที่ให้ทุกฟังก์ชันได้เชื่อมต่อและเปิดรับเข้าหาธรรมชาติ โดยเริ่มจากการออกแบบพื้นที่ Study & Living ที่สามารถเปิดประตูบานเฟี้ยมเชื่อมกับชานไม้ ให้กลายเป็นพื้นที่ Semi-Outdoor ต่อเนื่องไปยังสระว่ายน้ำขนาด 3 x 7 เมตร และสวนรอบๆ ในด้านทิศตะวันตก ซึ่งชานไม้นี้ ยังทำหน้าที่เป็นทางเดิน เชื่อมไปยังครัวไทย ครัวภายในบ้าน และพื้นที่รับประทานอาหารอีกด้วย และในการรีโนเวทครั้งนี้ ได้มีการปรับเปลี่ยนช่องเปิด ประตู-หน้าต่าง ที่ให้แสงแดด และลมธรรมชาติสามารถไหลเวียนหากันได้อย่างดี ช่วยเพิ่มความโปร่งโล่งสบายให้กับตัวบ้านมากขึ้น
When a new member comes into the family, the house must be well-prepared for every stage of a child’s growth. “Baan Vacharaphol” is a two-storey house renovation project in Sai Mai, where the owner intends to have a life among nature that is within reach every single day.
Such a request has led to a space design that connects functions together and opens up to nature, for example, changing the Study & Living space into a semi-outdoor area by using a folding door to open and connect with a wooden terrace, a 3 x 7 m swimming pool and gardens to the west of the house. This terrace also serves as a circulation that connects a Thai kitchen, a dry kitchen and a dining area. To promote an airy and comfortable ambience in the house, we modify the doors and windows to let natural light in and help thoroughly ventilate the indoor spaces.
