A Call for a South Sudan Ten State and Administrative Areas Peace Tournament

I respectfully call upon the Government of South Sudan to organize a national football peace tournament involving all states and administrative areas in Juba.

Football has the power to unite people regardless of their tribe, culture, or background. Through sport, we can strengthen peace, promote national unity, and encourage friendship among our young people.

A State and Administrative Areas Peace Tournament would not only showcase talent but also bring communities together under one flag—our beloved South Sudan.
Football is a tool for peace, unity, and hope.

If you support this idea, please share it so that it reaches the Government of South Sudan.

Gogrial East Football Team Acting President Mr. Agoth Mabuoch Akeen has suspended Press Secretary Mr. Teng Madut Teng and Sultan Media from all team activities pending an internal disciplinary investigation.

According to an official letter dated July 4, 2026, the suspension follows allegations that Teng disregarding on social media the official squad of the team as a “fake and unverified” squad list was issued on July 3, 2026.

The Management disregard the officially approved team selected by the coach, president, and secretary general for the upcoming tournament. During the suspension, Teng is barred from representing the team, issuing public statements, or attending official activities.

Management said the measure is to ensure a fair investigation and has temporarily appointed Citizens Voice Media to disseminate official team updates alongside the club’s official page.

WAU — Two young men were shot dead by unknown gunmen in Warayat village on the outskirts of Wau this evening, local sources said.

The victims have been identified as Chuor Deng Wol and Waya Mabeny, both members of the Marial-Wau community.

Garang Lual, a local resident, told reporters the attack occurred at about 6:00 p.m. He alleged the assailants were armed members of the Titweng group who fled toward the Kur-chok area after the shooting.

Security officers have been notified and an investigation is under way. No arrests have been reported.

Warrap police arrest woman for faking pregnancy

Police in Twic County, Warrap State, have arrested a 19-year-old woman accused of faking a pregnancy and deceiving both her family and her boyfriend’s family.

Maj. Manyok Ring Atem, Director of the Crime Section said the arrest followed a report from family members who became suspicious after the woman allegedly claimed she had given birth and that the baby had died shortly after delivery.

"The woman faked a pregnancy at home, and her husband believed she was pregnant. She claimed she went to the hospital to deliver and later returned carrying a bundle of clothes with a coconut drupe placed inside as the baby's head," Atem said.

He added that the woman told relatives the newborn had died, prompting the family to begin burial preparations.

"She came back home crying and told family members that the baby had died. A grave was dug, and burial arrangements began. According to local customs, elderly women were called to prepare the body. However, when they untied the clothes to see the baby's face, a coconut drupe fell out, exposing the deception," he said.

Police said investigations indicated the suspect had begun the deception after meeting her boyfriend in Wau, later informing him she was pregnant. The boyfriend reportedly informed his family, and marriage arrangements followed.

Authorities said the boyfriend’s family had already paid 11 cows as dowry.

Maj. Atem said the suspect would be taken to court on charges related to deception.
